Exhale Reformer

The Aura supports a maximum user weight of 120kg. The Luma supports 150kg, one of the highest ratings available in a foldable home reformer, making it particularly well-suited for allied health and physio applications where patient load varies. The Una and Vera are built for studio-grade load; specific maximum user weight for these models is available on enquiry.

Most reformers use five springs. The Exhale Aura, Luma & Una reformers feature five German-engineered springs, offering a full range of resistance combinations for both light and heavy loading. The quality of the spring system matters as much as the number, the German-engineered springs across the Exhale range are calibrated for consistent tension that doesn't degrade over time.

The Xpeed Exhale range of reformers feature a total of 5 springs: 2 red springs, 2 blue springs and 1 yellow spring.

Red = full strength (heavy resistance)
Blue = half strength (medium resistance)
Yellow = quarter strength (light resistance)

A folding reformer, like the Aura, Luma and Una, can be collapsed for storage when not in use, making it ideal for home gyms, spare rooms and space-conscious studios. A non-folding or fixed reformer, like the Vera (coming soon), is designed for permanent installation in a dedicated studio space. Fixed reformers typically offer a more stable, lower-profile carriage height and are built for continuous commercial use across multiple sessions per day.

For most Australian home users, the answer comes down to space and practice level. If you're beginning or returning to practice, the Xpeed Exhale Aura, a foldable Thai oak reformer with a 130kg max load, offers exceptional quality at an accessible entry point. If you're an intermediate to advanced practitioner with a dedicated studio space, the Luma (130kg max, North American maple) or the Una (150kg aluminium, foldable) deliver a more premium experience. All three fold for compact storage.

A pilates reformer is a resistance-based exercise machine comprising a sliding carriage, a spring system and a system of pulleys and ropes. As the user pushes or pulls against the carriage, the springs provide adjustable resistance that challenges muscles through a full range of motion. Unlike floor-based Pilates, the reformer allows for greater movement variation, deeper muscle engagement and more precise control, making it effective for rehabilitation, strength, flexibility and posture improvement.
